Handsfree Group UK are completely committed to guaranteeing best practice when installing vehicle technology products, ensuring all their engineers are FITAS accredited. Across the UK Handsfree Group install complex systems for a wide spectrum of transport, logistic and emergency service clients, while also recognising the importance of excellent training, communication and awareness for all professional engineers nationwide.
Handsfree Group highly value their active role as a Patron of the Federation of Communication Services (FCS) and as such have partnered with FCS and FITAS to help them launch a new engineers Academy, to support the UK wide efforts of maintaining industry standards when fitting equipment to vehicles.
FCS is the not-for-profit industry association for companies which deliver professional voice and data communications solutions to business and public sector customers in the UK. They provide strong communication channels between engineers and industry policies.
FCS exists to make sure everyone – citizens, consumers, business people, regulators and policy-makers – understands and values the unique contribution ‘comms’ makes to our national life.
To maintain these strong communication channels The FCS Installer Training & Accreditation Scheme (FITAS) was created. The training scheme provides a facility for the installers of communications equipment into vehicles to demonstrate their knowledge, ability and commitment to continued learning. This enables engineers nationwide to receive the quality assured accreditation and reflects their high professional standards in which the industry seeks to uphold.
Handsfree Group Supports Growth of Engineers
Staying active in their important role as FCS Patron, Handsfree Group UK ambition is to help all engineers access the vital FITAS training. Encouraging the importance of installation safety and security in the transport, logistics and fleet sectors is a top priority.
Handsfree Group provide their expert Installhub facility,both in Manchester and York, to the FITAS training scheme.
The Installhub facilities are used to train engineers to FCS1362 and FITAS industry standards. Allowing engineers to experience and precisely understand how to correctly tailor and install vehicle communication, safety and security solutions.
Handsfree Group UK also support FITAS engineer workshops with training space in their Manchester HQ. Providing high tech training rooms, superfast WIFI and refreshments.
