Many of Handsfree’s employees and customers attended the British Moto GP at Silverstone this weekend to watch some fantastic racing. Along with the racing they had the opportunity to see The Rain Band, supported by James Toseland, and the performance of their single “Rise Again” of which all proceeds go to the The Marco Simoncelli Foundation, who’s aim is to build disabled care homes across the world.

Handsfree’s Director Matt Johnson was also there to oversee his fundraising idea; a Fender guitar customised with the Marco Simoncelli number 58. The guitar was signed by every 2012 Moto GP Rider on stage at Silverstone on Saturday night and will be auctioned at The San Marino Grand Prix, Italy on 16th September and, experts say, is likely to fetch over £10,000. Valentino Rossi has already confirmed he will have the 1st bid!

As well as coming up with the concept Matt Johnson was helped by several people to realise his dream:
Bob Spencer, Bobajob – Design and artwork
Rob Reeces, Urmston Signs – Stencils
Andy Johnson, Lichfield Accident and Repair Centre – Paintwork

All the money raised from the auction of the guitar will be added to The Rainband’s “Rise Again” fundraising campaign for the Marco Simoncelli Foundation. The single, featuring James Toseland on keyboards, is for sale on iTunes.
