Best Technology
Abbey Logistics strives for exceptional levels of customer service and have ambition for all their drivers to exceed safety standards when delivering to customers nationwide and across Europe.
Recognised as the UK’s largest bulk liquid and powder food transport provider, serving some of Europe’s largest manufacturers, Abbey Logistics Group value the importance of supreme safety and aim to uphold their pristine reputation nationwide.
To support their superior service, Abbey Logistics recognised their current telematics software was outdated and did not satisfy the safety standards in which they strive for. The outstanding service provider therefore was on the search for the best vehicle technology and made the decision to invest in new Microlise systems across their fleet.
350 New Telematics Systems
Handsfree Group are a trusted FCS 1362 and accredited FITAS installation partner and their professional team handled the installation of the new Microlise fleet management telematics solution.
Handsfree Group engineers installed the new system into 350 tractors within the Abbey Logistics fleet. Abbey Logistics received the Microlise Driver Performance Management (DPM) app and Microlise Remote Digital Tachograph Download.
This new Microlise solution also means all the fleets vehicles will also get high quality handsfree communication, further enhancing driver safety.
The DPM app will give drivers a full spectrum view of their performance, compared to others in their team, providing motivation through league tables and incentives. The system will also allow Abbey Logistics to understand where improvements can be made.
The Remote Digital Tachograph Download will convert the collection of drivers’ hours on a regular basis and this is compatible on all vehicles.
Better Safety, Better Future
Handsfree Group’s FITAS engineers worked closely with the technical team at Microlise to ensure a remarkable service was provided for all 650 installs and communication with Abbey Logistics.
The new telematics solution will significantly increase efficiency and safety across the service providers fleet. The software has replaced three different legacy tracking systems which had been previously installed, in order to change the way Abbey Logistics drivers are tracking their performance when on the road.
Handsfree Group’s expert team are confident the new installation will instantly improve driver performance while reducing fuel costs and environmental impact. The new system will equip drivers with the best technology to support them across their deliveries and exceeds Abbey Logistics safety expectations.
