The solution, produced in collaboration with manufacturers and operators, was the production of a detailed electrical audit sheet that tested and recorded each and every part of the system.
Depending on the type of fault found, the vehicle either received emergency maintenance or, for non-critical failures, was designated a time for repairs.
The convenience of a quick turn-around and out-of-hours service was crucial to all electrical checks being completed within an hour with audit paperwork filled in and transferred within 24 hours, unless faults were found.
