How an accident camera saves money and saves lives

Fagan & Whalley have been in the haulage business for over 85 years, so know a thing or two about change. But what has kept the East Lancashire transport company up there amongst the premier hauliers in the UK has been their willingness to adapt to new technology.

Safety and efficiency is at the top of any transport manager’s list when it comes to running a top-notch fleet. But with Fagan & Whalley’s 167 vehicles on the road, the opportunity for accidents is ever present – a problem that can result in high insurance premiums as well as the obvious safety concerns.

On top of this, fuel and maintenance costs can be pushed higher by inefficient driving – think speeding or too much braking causing wear and tear.

It was clear, then, that introducing a system to heighten safety awareness would improve upon what was already a well-run operation.
